For those of you who have been keeping up with the New Hope Church Vandalism I want to report that the Dresden Enterprise had an article on the front page about the incident and punishment. Names and address of the offenders were included.
What was the result? I haven't seen the judgment come through yet. Leslie lmoore@ecsis.net ----- Original Message ----- From: Donald J. Thank you so much for responding, Peggy. I really appreciate all your help. It sounds like a wonderful place to do research. Time permitting, we'll stop at both libraries. I apologize if I missed someone already saying this in a previous post but I wouldn't want anyone to miss going to these places if they are researching in the area. Paris, TN has a wonderful genealogy room at their Rhea Library. Lots of microfilm readers, lots of film, books and helpful assistants. There is also an Archives in Paris with literally tons of old original documents from the courthouse that they have sorted and are still sorting (last I heard) which can be copied at a nominal fee. And they have a Family History Center which has films of records and readers. They have recently added the films of TN death certificates and I think those are at the library but I'm not sure. The information they have at all these places is not limited to just Henry County and many of our ancestors passed through there even if they didn't stay, so it's worth a look. I can also recommend The Veranda Bed and Breakfast which is just a short walk from the library in Paris. It is purely a delight to stay there. I've gone to that library a couple of times. There is not a lot of parking there; what there is especially full on Saturdays. If you are staying at an area hotel which has a shuttle, I would suggest that you use it. We did, and it worked out very well for us. It did help that I had printed out a computer map showing where the State Library is. I think it is a place that the shuttle drivers are not usually asked to go. Good hunting. If you go on Saturday (I did) you need to be parked before they open..(that is if you don't get a shuttle, gosh that would be nice.)........usually then you will not have any trouble what so ever..........parking is limited but I don't think you will have any trouble......... I see someone already give you the info...........that's great, I was going to this morning but we talked sort of late last night and both were tired.......... Greene Co, Ar Library is big and good............my Harold was from Greene Co, Ar therefore I have done alot of research in that Library............. My home and genealogy room (and kitchen) is still open to you and my pond is open to your husband..........hehehehhe..........he can even feed the fish himself............ When are you planning on being in this area? pj
Thank you, thank you, thank you to all the genie angels who have responded to my plea for advice. With all the help you have given me, I will now be able to finalize my research plans. You couldn't have been more helpful. TNweakle@rootsweb.com and the folks who are members are the very best. Pat

Pat, We have a library here in Greenfield but not much there on genealogy. The Gordon Browning Museum and Genealogical Library in nearby McKenzie is a great place especially for this general area. It was must have been too late last night for me to be accurate. I'll try it again. I plan to do research in Greene Co., AR and in Weakley County, TN. My husband also said that he would take me on to Nashville to the state archives. (It seems he cousin who lives in that area.) Does anyone have the name of the library there and the address? The Metro Archives in Nashville is also excellent. They deal only with Davidson Co TN, so they are very focused. It is in the Green Hills shopping area.
