Most of the cemeteries of Weakley County are listed on the findagrave website. This site shows them on a map with GPS coordinates for those that have that ability either in their car or hand held unit. The maps can be zoomed in or out in order to find the names of the roads and to see driving locations from any location in the area. There are many ways to search including search for a cemetery. http://www.findagrave.com/ It is a great site to list your ancestors including pictures and any other info you wish to include in their bio. Before finding the cemetery, I stopped at the Dresden Enterprise office to get copies of the papers with the articles. As it turned out, my people were not buried there but it was interesting to see the church. After a few other cemetery stops, we ate lunch at The Hearth, which by the way, was delicious! The folks there were very helpful and called the funeral home for me to get the directions to the other two New Hope cemeteries. Of course, as luck would have i,t we found our folks at the last New Hope cemetery near Tumbling. There were relatives in Tumbling Creek and Butler, so I just have guessed it would have been that one.' Anyway, we had a full day travelling around the backroads of the county. It was a lot of fun! Elise, I live in a small town in AR and my local library has gotten microfilm for me through interlibrary loan from TN....no costs involved. Granted, it was not recently.... but a couple of years ago. It must be something within that library system. ~Sue~ ----- Original Message ----- From: "Elise Wright Myers" <bogart@windstream.net> To: <srpetty@mindspring.com>; <tnweakle@rootsweb.com> Sent: Monday, September 03, 2007 9:09 AM Subject: Re: [TNWEAKLE] death cert. > Connie... Could someone post a listing of all the Summers graves in this cemetery? I was just there this past weekend and found my people there. One small grave inscription I cant make out in the picture I downloaded today. It is so frustrating. I should have been prepared for a grave rubbing but I was trying to do so many things this weekend. Thanks a bunch! Elise W.Myers

Connie... I'm not sure where you are located or even if you are in TN...but I am in GA and was told at my library that they could not do out of state library loans. I was so disappointed. I know they have volunteers for look- ups in some libraries. In my opinion, it is the luck of the draw, if you get good library help. It is a shame people get burned out on doing their jobs. I hope someone has better info for you than me!! Let's try this one more time. Does anyone have the "old" west Tn. recipe for green tomato relish, or as my relatives called it, green tomato catsup? I remember you used green tomatoes, cabbage, hot green peppers. Salt (how much) put the ingredients into a crock. Covered with a cheesecloth (or white dishtowel) placed a plate over this, put a brick or rock on top of the plate and let the brine process begin. How long should it be in the brine solution? How often do you skim the brine off? How do you can it when it is ready for use? Remember NO SUGAR Joyce COOK Tesche'
I should not have even mentioned that..........some of these libraries, really little ones had hired help in the genealogy department it shocked me........... What I was saying we need help with is what you have to go through to get into the genealogy department, then no copier, etc..........oh well..........when you visit all these others and just walk in, go to work and make yourself at home............it spoils you for sure.......... I am very thankful you are ordering these films.........can't wait until you get all the death certificates...........they are truly a jewel to have..........I worked in Kentucky ones on Friday morning.............20 cents a copy...........can you believe that????????? I nearly fainted............. I had not told anyone but Ralph and I have been on vacation traveling around for me to do research............I am worn out...........I spent at least $100 on copies and maybe more..............now I got to go through them and decide what I got and didn't get..............pj > > pj, > Most library have volunteers to help in research.
