Ken, I was trying to tie my ALLEN family into the POWELLS .......it looks as if there was a Howel Alen who married an Anna POWELL nothing to confirm this...........there was an ANNA who died in Sept of 1850 in Wayne co deaths,(september fever) that was the year that Howell left and married Lucinda Whitt in South Carolina...........he had two daughters in Wayne County.....then removed to S.C. married and had three children, and according to the Census he was dead by 1870........no information on him that can be proven except the US CENSUS. There was info on the internet that stated his wife was a POWELL, but no sources or proof of that. The person who gave the info has since stated that a good friend told him that she was Anna Powell....no proof.............
