Don't go blaming poor Betty for the posting. I posted it. I certainly wasn't trying to help that site sell books, I was just letting Betty know that Arkansas did, in fact, sell land cheap, as well as donate land and that she could look for her surnames in the indexes to each county on the site. I didn't buy the books, myself, but still found the "Bit" of information and the indexes useful. If your surnames are not there, then your relatives probably didn't buy "swamp land" or receive "donated land." If you want a website with the information without buying anything, you will have to go hunting for it, just like I spent years hunting for information on my Wayne County kin, and shelling out big bucks in what more often than not, turned out to be "wild goose" chases. But that's the nature of Genealogy. I think our Dearly Departed planned it that way, just to insure they would have entertainment on the other side (they probably heard there's no television over there [grin] ). Hope I got you off-the-hook, Betty. Jo Ann
