    3. Hi Betty, I found your email very interesting. Do you know why so many people came from Wayne Co. TN to Izard Co. (later Stone Co.) AR? My relatives, Dugger/ Duggar, Arnolds, Decker, Lancaster all came as best I can tell about 1873. Would like to know why? And if they all came at the same time in a group? Does anyone know? ----- Original Message ----- From: Betty McCollum To: tnwayne@rootsweb.com Sent: Wednesday, January 02, 2008 1:02 PM Subject: Re: [TNWAYNE] Surnames Scott,Duren,CATES,Berry, That's okay. I'm not related to the Duren's but there were, and still are Duren's here in Izard Co., Ar. and thought I might be able to help you. Betty Mc

    3. That's interesting, in that my own ancestors, the Barkley's, also migrated from Wayne County to Shannon County, Missouri, but first they went to Arkansas, where one of their children died. The story in our family is that a wagon train set out from Wayne County in the early 1870s and included Coopers, McFalls (but some Coopers were already in Shannon County by that time). There are quite a few family names in Winona, Shannon Co MO, that are the same as a lot of family names I've seen in Wayne County and I've always wondered if they were all on the same wagon train! Do you know any of the other names that came with them? Was there a HASTY family? They were all in Wayne Co. TN on one census and on the next census most were in Izard, AR but some in MO. I wondered if they were offered free land to go or what? Thanks for all the replies. Love genealogy. Sylvia in TX searching for Dugger, Arnolds, Decker, Lancaster, Hasty

    3. My Keeling family set out from Wayne Co. in the 1870's on a wagon train according to a great aunt of mine who is now deceased. My Keelings ended up in Barry Co., MO. Does anyone know where to find a list of people who traveled on the wagon trains during that time period. I am talking from the mid 1860's after the civil war thru the 1870's? I would think that the Wagon Master of each train would have to have had a list and that SOMEWHERE THOSE LISTS EXIST!!! I think that this information would help alot of us.
