Betty and others, if you go to this site: www.ArkansasResearch.com, you will read a bit about Arkansas selling "Swamp Land." And the state of Arkansas giving away "Donation Lands" beginning in 1871. This might be a reason (although not the only reason, probably) that so many from Wayne County, TN (including a Holt or two)came into Arkansas. You can (if I remember right) check the indexes for the names of people receiving those lands.
