    3. This Berry family lived in the Hookers Bend Community in Hardin County and were friends with my Watson family. William Robert and Ruby Lena Lee Berry are buried in Oakland Cemetery, Hookers Bend. Mary Ruth always told my Dad that the Watsons and Berrys are related, but I have yet to make the connection except for my GGG Grandfather had a sister who married a Barry or Berry in York Co., SC. Just curious is this is your Berry family. Always wondered who these Berrys descend from but never checked it out. Mary Ruth Berry Thomison Funeral services for Mary Ruth Berry Thomison, 75, will be held at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, August 4, 2004 at Medina First United Methodist Church with Reverend Don Thrasher officiating. Burial will follow in Mount Zion Cemetery in Medina with Replogle-Lawrence Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Thomison died Sunday, August 1, 2004 at her home. She was born in the Hookers Bend Community of Hardin County, daughter of the late William Robert and Ruby Lena Lee Berry. She was educated in the Hardin County Schools and was a 1948 graduate of Lambuth University in Jackson. Mrs. Thomison was a retired school teacher, who began her teaching career in Humboldt, then taught in Morris Chapel and Alamo and settled in Medina along with her late husband John Hollis Thomison, Sr., a longtime principal or the Medina Schools, and retiring in 1985. Mrs. Thomison was a member of Medina First Methodist Church where she had served on several varied church committees. She loved her church! She was an avid supporter of the American Cancer Society serving as a volunteer for the Relay-for-Life and other functions. Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Patricia Elaine Thomison Deaton and husband Larry Gail Deaton of Medina; a son, John Hollis Thomison, Jr. and wife Rita Karen Bilbrey Thomison of Smithville, AR; two grandchildren, Lindsay Lane Thomison, age 20, and John Hollis Thomison, III, age 14. The family wishes to express a special thank you to Dr. Saloman Asmar and his staff, all the nurses on 9 West of Jackson-Madison County General Hospital and Hospice of West Tennessee. Any memorials are requested to be forwarded to the American Cancer Society, c/o Cindy Wilson, P. O. Box 68 Medina, TN38355. Visitation with the family will be from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. today at the funeral home and from 12:00 noon until service time Wednesday at the church.
