Years ago someone on line said they had rounded up all the marriage records and I believe they were in the attic of the court house and lightening hit it and they were all ruined. Big problem for me as the court house in Monroe Co., Ohio burned (my main families went through there before 1860) and then the court house in Wayne Co., Illinois burned in the 1880s and again my main families were there from 1860 on. Then my family was in Wayne Co., TN from the early 1800s till the 1860s and a fire there. Now that you say the land records are there I will be trying to make a trip south. I live outside of Chicago so will be a research trip stopping along the way. I am down from John Hill (1767-abt 1829 or 1830) and Obedience Cullum (1766 to 1850). They had 12 children and chasing them down has been a labor of love and I am still trying to find who who married who and what happened to some of them. Jerilyn **************It's Tax Time! Jerilyn, The state of Tennessee probably has copies of the records you are searching for......... you can email the Reference@state.us.tn ask if they have them..............and if so they can mail copies much cheaper than you can make the trip. They are very economical, of course if you live in Tennessee it is much cheaper. Unless you just want to make the trip. joyce Jlktrees@aol.com wrote: Years ago someone on line said they had rounded up all the marriage records and I believe they were in the attic of the court house and lightening hit it and they were all ruined.
