I would like to know the very early history of the Hollis/Holly Creek Cemetery. Does anyone know whose land it was taken from and who was probably buried there first? I think that James Hollis Sr. who died 7/1843 and wife Sarah Choate Hollis who died abt 1842 were buried there in now unmarked graves. This is probably who the Cem. was named for. James H. Gambrell married Louisa Jane Hollis (the grandaughter of James and Sarah Choate Hollis). The majority of the persons buried in this cemetery are descendants or married descendants of James and Sarah Choate Hollis. Any help will be appreciated. Mary Nell Hollis Franks
