You had shared with me the research that Henry Davis Allen married Mary Barnes and that the research suggested they were the parents of my great great grandmother Sarah E. Allen Hayes. Sarah was the mother of Mary Hayes who married James Shelton Allen . Until I can uncover some evidence of this relationship, for me, Howell Allen and his suspected spouse, Anna, remain more likely prospects as Sarah's parents, by virtue of the physical proximity to William and Sarah Hayes in the 1850 Wayne County census. I am not comfortable accepting, without reservation, either couple as Sarah's parents until some supporting evidence, with research sources, is found to favorite one or the other. Any sources of information that I might persue are welcome.
