Searching for any data on the HIGHSMITH family. On the Wayne Co web page I found A Elias Highsmith & John Highsmith listed on Petition to move county seat lative. Also on the 1840 census there is a Daniel Highsmith. My gg grandfather was Elias HIGHSMITH /HYSMITH he was b 24 Aug 1844 Wayne Co., Tn., d 2 Sept 1915 McNairy Co., Tn. I believe his parents arev D.H.
