I am now looking for information on John Galloway and Nancy (Nan) Johnson. He was the son of Robert R. and possibly Elizabeth Galloway Johnson of Marion, county Alabama. John was born in Alabama, but moved to Wayne Co., TN. He was first married to Nancy ?, then after her death, he married Nancy (Nan) Shubert. After John's death, Nan married Sam Rainey, then Harvey Shubert in 1933. It is presumed that John died somewhere after 1910 because that is the last census he is listed on. John was also called Lumberfoot and Bigfoot Johnson. I was told he died in the poorhouse by a relative of his first wife, but that doesn't match what John and Nan's son Josiah, my grandfather, told. What I need most is John's death date as close as possible, and where he is buried. I was told it was in a Modern Woodman cemetary in Savannah, and he was buried with military honors as he served in the Civil War as a Bugler, then a scout. Any information will be appreciated. Nan by the way is buried in ! Cromwell Crossroads Cemetery in Lutts with Harvey. John was 63 in the 1910 census so that would make his birth date 1847, but it is also noted by the family that he was much older than that. If anyone knows or can find any info on John or Nan or their parents and family, it would be greatly appreciated. Rosemary Johnson Reed
