Hi Pam, Mahala Eliza Brown was the daughter of Nathaniel Young Brown (1820-1865) and Elizabeth Emily Lawson (1832-1910). They were married 22 September 1849 in Itawamba County, Mississippi and were residing in Wayne County, Tennessee by 1850. Nathaniel Young Brown was the son of Andrew Brown (b. 1790 SC) and Elizabeth Young (b. 1799 SC, dau of Nathaniel Young and Jemima Young). They were married 15 August 1817 in Maury County, Tennessee. They moved to Wayne County, Tennessee in the early 1830s and on to Itawamba County, Mississippi after 1840. Elizabeth Emily Lawson was the daughter of Amos Banks Lawson (b. 1789 SC) and Elizabeth Hughes. They sold their land in Wayne County, Tennessee in 1833 and moved to Itawamba County, Mississippi and moved back to Wayne County, Tennessee in late 1849. The children I have for Nathaniel Young Brown and Elizabeth Emily Lawson were: 1. Emily Jane Brown, b. Feb 1850 Wayne County, Tennessee; m. 29 Nov 1866 Wayne County, Tennessee to J.W. Helton. 2. Mahala Eliza Brown, b. 1851 Wayne County, Tennessee; m. 10 Dec 1868 Wayne County, Tennessee to Zachariah Taylor Helton. 3. Robert A. Brown, b. 1854 Wayne County, Tennessee; m. Clara M._______. 4.
