I don't have anything in my database on Dorthena "Trithena"'s Shipman children. The information on Tidings Thompson and also Newton Anderson Cypert was originally compiled by the late Margaret S. Varner of Memphis, based on Tidings Thompson's soldier's survivor's pension application on son, Henry H. Thompson who was killed while serving in the Union Army during the Civil War, the biographies of Kerley's, and correspondence with descendants. Margaret was trying to straighten out the children of Newton Anderson Cypert as well as the children of Mary Cypert Thompson. Her principal research was on the descendants of John and Nancy Anderson Cypert. It wasn't until we received a copy of the Rev. Benjamin King Bible record, years later, that we learned that Elender had been Rev. Ben's daughter. I don't have a William S. Shipman in my database of the Cypert family. The only earliest William Shipman I have was born in 1855 and was the son Isaac and Malinda Cypert Shipman. Malinda was the daughter of Baker (b. 1786) and Malinda Neal Cypert.
