    3. For those interested, I have added some copies to my website http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~jwmurphy/. Among the copies added is the 1810 Buncombe County, North Carolina census page listing Hiram Daniel and Robert Daniel. Also added was Hiram Daniel's land grant in Rutherford County, North Carolina and the deed where he later sold the land. Both land records are difficult to read. I've added the page from the "River Counties" journal which noted the death of Plummer Daniel. Maybe at some point I'll get the actual newspaper obituary and add it too. The Rhea County, Tennessee bill of sale which listed Plummer Daniel and George Gillispie as the Administrators of the estate of Hiram Daniel, dec., has also been added. They were selling a slave boy named Isaac in the bill of sale. Interestingly the next bill of sale is where George Gillispie is buying the boy from the person he was sold to. I suspect this may be the black Isaac Daniel which appears on Tennessee census records after the Civil War. I have a few more Daniel things to add when time permits. Clay, what was the connection between Robert C. Daniel and Hiram Harris in Bedford County, Tennessee? I just noticed Hiram Harris witnessed his will. Is this Hiram Harris a descendant of Hiram Daniel? By the way, I don't know if you know this or not but the John W. Dennen (Denning) listed on the 1850 Bedford County, Tennessee (page 521) residing between Robert's sons, James and Benjamin, was the son-in-law of John A. Daniel of Rhea and Meigs Counties, Tennessee. Yes, Elizabeth Dennen was Elizabeth Daniel, daughter of John A. Daniel (b. c1790) and Sarah Massey. I believe this John A. Daniel is another brother of Robert C. Daniel and Plummer Daniel. Another question. Who was the wife of Hezekiah Bennett that was a neighbor of Robert C. Daniel in Bedford County, Tennessee? Was "Mima" (possibly Jemima) a Daniel and sister of Robert? I noticed Hezekiah and Mima (b. c1810) named sons Hiram, Solomon and Robert. If Mima was a Daniel, she was near the same age as Solomon Daniel (1808-1863) who married Jane Orr in Rhea County, Tennessee before moving to Greene County, Missouri. According to descendants of him that I've corresponded with in the past he was the brother of Plummer Daniel. They say Plummer and Solomon were among those that moved the Cherokees west and were paid with land in Missouri. They say Solomon moved there but Plummer didn't. Now I'll let you digest all of this information. :-) Jerry W. 3. Jerry W. Murphy Thanks for the letter. You have done a lot of research on our DANIEL family and I apppreciate you sharing it with everyone, and posting it on your website too. I think you and I are both open to the discovery of the truth, and the DNA evidence is a key clue. We now know my gg-grandfather Robert C. Daniel is relative of Plummer Daniel. The 1810 Buncombe County North Carolina census is interesting, but we still need to account for William Daniel shown nearby as "20010-20010". I don't yet understand how Hiram Harris fits in but in looking at a copy (not transcription) of the will, I do see that he and Mike Shoffner attest to the Robert C. Daniel will of 6th May 1867. The BENNETT question is interesting. We know that Robert's daugher Elizabeth M. Daniel b: 23 DEC 1837 married DeWitt Clinton BENNETT 7 Aug 1856. But you are talking about their parents generation, and I have this snippet of info from Evelyn: "From the Earliest Court Records of Bedford County, page 27, by Marsh, we learn that Hezekiah Bennett applied in court in the 1848 December term that Robert C. Daniel be appointed guardian of the minor heirs of William Bennett, deceased." More snippets: "Robert C. Daniel and Hezekiah Ray were witnesses to the sale of 60 acres by Elijah Parker to Plummer Daniel on December 12, 1836. Robert C. Daniel and James A. Daniel were among the petitioners on November 22, 1843 to the General Assembly of Tennessee for authorization of sale of a section of the school tract, setting aside four acres to include a meeting house (this was Raus School)." Keep up the good work. We need to find more DNA participants from lines other than our Robert C. & Plummer, and I've been trying to "beat the bushes and flush them out", but it is a slow process. I honestly think this DANIEL family is larger than Hiram. Let's keep our minds open. Clay Daniels ----- Original Message ----- From: "Jerry W.
