Do you know any of the other names that came with them? Was there a HASTY family? They were all in Wayne Co. TN on one census and on the next census most were in Izard, AR but some in MO. I wondered if they were offered free land to go or what? Thanks for all the replies. Love genealogy. Sylvia in TX searching for Dugger, Arnolds, Decker, Lancaster, Hasty

    3. Betty and all, There are two clans of Moser in Izard County...the NC clan and the TN clan. The TN clan came from Wayne County, TN around 1854/1855. The NC clan arrived around 1825-1835. It appears there may have been a long(ish) migration of Wayne County Tennesseans arriving in Izard County in the 19th century. 2. Donita Barkley
    3. That's interesting, in that my own ancestors, the Barkley's, also migrated from Wayne County to Shannon County, Missouri, but first they went to Arkansas, where one of their children died. The story in our family is that a wagon train set out from Wayne County in the early 1870s and included Coopers, McFalls (but some Coopers were already in Shannon County by that time). There are quite a few family names in Winona, Shannon Co MO, that are the same as a lot of family names I've seen in Wayne County and I've always wondered if they were all on the same wagon train! They are a part of our heritage even though they may appear as a variant from our original purpose. Such productions define us by giving insights into the character of our forebears and help to define those whose names we do not know.
