The Johnson Reunion for the descendants of Presley, Samuel, and Joel Johnson will be Friday and Saturday, July 18th and 19th at the J. P. Coleman State Park in Tishomingo County, Mississippi. They are thought to be descendants of Jeffery and Rachel Walker Johnson who died in Wilkes County, North Carolina. Presley and Samuel were born in the 1790's in Wilkes County. Those attending this year will include descendants of Jeffery and Rachel Johnson's son William Johnson, Revolutionary War soldier. Mary and James A family (Holt line)member has a picture of Nancy Prater and the name written on the back is Nancy Cooper I have a deed to her son where she gives her name as Nancy Brewer when question Bazel Prater's wife if she is doing it on her own free wile. Bazel and Nancy Prater was living in Izard co,Ar and close by the families of Wiley Brewer from Wayne co Tn also so with the deed and close by each other in Ar it seemed to me the deed was right. The Nancy Brewer who m. the Prater is not the Nancy Jane Brewer who m. Daniel and Danley. She moved back to Wayne Co., after her first husband, Daniel, died. Later she m. Danley and they are buried on Butler Creek in Wayne Co. If the Nancy, wife of Bozell Prater, was a Brewer, she was not likely to be related to any of the other families in Wayne Co. They lived in the 1st District between the Tennessee River and the Buffalo River. This is quite a distance from the other Brewers who lived in the county. There is only one Brewer family living anywhere near. They were in the 14th District S. of the 1st Dist. They were S.M. Brewer, 25; Ann 18; Martha 1; and John 80. Hi, I am a new subscriber to this list and am researching the Davidson families of Wayne, Hardin, and Henderson counties and some of their allied families. I am preparing a tree of these Davidson families in conjunction with the Davidson DNA project. If anyone has data on these families or can point me to some source material, please advise. Hello Lois, I would love to find someone with more info on my Petty line. I descend from Thelma Petty, daughter of Hardin Petty (1886-1964). Hardin was the son of Samuel Petty (1848- ). Samuel was the son of Travis T. (Thomas) Petty (1815-??) and Rebecca Stricklin. Travis T. is as far back as I have gotten. I have some additional information on them, let me know if there is a tie. In the 1930 Census of Gibson Co Ann Allen was still living, but I do not know when or where she died or is buried. Would appreciate some help on this......I have about completed all of this families birthdates, death dates and marriages. I would like to finish this and go on to the next project.
