    2. M. A. Jordan
    3. Am looking for information regarding the David Carter and Elizabeth Walker Carter families that came from NC early in 1810's. They probably married in TN and had several children including Mary Jane Carter who married Alfred Young Lothlin (name mispelled from Laughlin?) about 1838. His mother was in Wayne Co and remarried after his father died--perhaps her name was Kisner. AY came to TX in 1831, back to TN in 1836/37 and married Mary Jane then 2 or 3 kids later moved back to TX. Any infromation on the TN family would be much appreciated. Thanks, Jan Jordan

    3. Hi Ed: We once had a "Civil War Soldier Biography" area on the Wayne County TN page where we could post our ancestor soldiers and a brief biography of their CSA military service. I don't seem to be able to find it any more. Could you tell me please where these are located now? Also, is there a place to post "Family Biographies" for Wayne Co., TN ancestors? 3. Hi, I would like to thank who ever is responsible for putting all of the new information for Wayne Co. TN on the web site. I know it is a lot of work. I would like them to know how much it helps us who can't get to Wayne Co. TN to do our research. THANK YOU!! I helped me today. I am trying to find my ggrandfather Francis M. Dugger in Wayne Co.TN. On the 1850 Wayne Co. TN census there was a Francis M. DUGGER living with Benj HASTY but using ditto marks (") this DUGGER was shown to be a Female. I was sure this was wrong but had no proof until today on the new Circuit Court Minutes Updated, I found Francis M. DUGGER not once but twice wanted to appear in court as a witness. THANK YOU!! If anyone on the list has any information on Francis M. DUGGER, Anna DUGGER, Joackim DUGGER, Lidy HASTY, or Louisa ARNOLD, all of Wayne Co. TN in 1840 and 1850 I would like to hear from you. Thanks again for the great web site. Sylvia Thomas TX [email protected]

    1. [TNWAYNE] worthen/warthen
    2. Hi List Not much going on with the List so thought I would post my line. John Worthen first found in Wayne County, TN 1840 census. The 1850 Census named his second wife - Nancy P. (Hardin). John died in 1862 and Nancy is not with the family in 1860 Census. John's son, William S. Worthen/Warthen married within the Census year of 1850 to Sarah Ann UNKNOWN - second wife was said to be Margaret Elizabeth Colphen (sic) who burned to death before 1860 -third wife was Mrs. Letty Mae (unknown) Wilkins. The name on her marriage lic. states Letty Wilkerson but her young son was John Wilkins. William S. moved his family to Texas in 1854-55 and the Indian Territory (OK) around 1890-92 where he died in 1907. Would love to the find John's first wife plus information on William's first two wives. Anyone interested in this line? Enjoy the day. Barbara

    1. [TNWAYNE] Good idea how to stop viruses
    2. Jane Foley
    3. I got this from another list and I thought you might like it too. I learned a computer trick today that's really ingenious in its simplicity. As you may know, when/if a worm virus gets into your computer it heads straight for your email address book and sends itself to everyone in there, thus infecting all your friends and associates. This trick won't keep the virus from getting into your computer, but it will stop it from using your address book to spread further, and it will alert you to the fact that the worm has gotten into your system. Here's what you do - 1) Open your address book and click on "new contact" just as you would do if you were adding a new friend to your list of email addresses. 2) In the window where you would type your friend's first name, type in !000 (that's an exclamation mark followed by 3 zeros). 3) In the window below where it prompts you to enter the new email address, type in WormAlert. Then complete everything by clicking add, enter, ok, etc. (In AOL mine worked under first name, !000 WormAlert) Now, here's what you've done and why it works. The "name" !000 will be placed at the top of your address book as entry #1. This will be where the worm will start in an effort to send itself to all your friends. But when it tries to send itself to !000, it will be undeliverable because of the phony email address you entered (WormAlert). If the first attempt fails (which it will because of the phony address), the worm goes no further and your friends will not be infected. Here's the second great advantage of this method. If an email cannot be delivered, you will be notified of this in your InBox almost immediately. Hence, if you ever get an email telling you that an email addressed to WormAlert could not be delivered, you know right away that you have the worm virus in your system. You can then take steps to get rid of it! Pretty slick huh? If everybody you know does this then you needn't ever worry about opening mail from friends.

    2. If Peggy Robbins Rhoades has information on the Nancy Robbins (b. about 1773) who was married to John Curtis (b. 1769, probably to Thomas Curtis and Eleanor (Bryant) Curtis) and who died in Wayne County, TN between 1850 and 1860 I would love to know as much about her ancestry as possible. I believe that she and John were my ancestors through their son John Solomon Curtis of Winston County, AL, although my proof on this is only circumstantial. Thanks, Ruth Gravitt
