Hi everyone, I just wanted to remind you about the Lawrence County Genealogical Society's family history fair this weekend (Sat., June 28 from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.). Right now we have 21 tables reserved and from what I see on their registration forms, each person is bringing tons of info and pictures on their families to share with everyone who comes to browse the tables in hopes of finding more info on their family. I will take reservations for tables until 5:00 p.m. Thursday, June 26 (tomorrow). After that time, I will have to stop so I can prepare the directory of surnames and vendors to give to each person at the fair. The tables are free, we just need to know how many to set up. IF anyone still needs a table, email your name, address, email address, the surnames you are researching (whether Lawrence or surrounding counties), how many tables you need, and if you need close to a plug-in. There are very few plug-ins in the high school cafeteria. If you need a table, or are just planning on attending and need directions, please email me. Admission is $1, so spend that dollar and have a lot of fun finding long lost ancestors and new cousins. Thanks Kathy Niedergeses, Director Lawrence Co. Archives & LCGS Chairperson

Hello Heidi Sue Willoughby, My return note to you bounced, incorrect mailing address. I am a 4g grandson of Andrew KERR and Jane (Neill) KERR. I have attached a document, 71 pages in length, of the information that I have in my file for descendants of James G. WILLOUGHBY and Margaret Elizabeth (Kerr) WILLOUGHBY. She was my 4g Aunt. If they are your ancestors, I'd really like to have your family information to add to my files. I began gathering family information in 1979, just prior to my father passing away in 1980. Rather than copies of wills, etc., I'd prefer to have your family lineage to add to the file. Best Wishes, Thomas Evans, Jr. Minneapolis, MN (transplanted here in 1960). In a message dated 6/10/03 12:35:17 AM, [email protected] writes: << I noticed your genaology info on the Kerr Website saying you have Willoughby family info. Honoring Ellis TYCER, Revolutionary War Veteran (NC Militia), and his family, the reunion's first two days will be held in Portland, Oregon, Oct. 2 & 3. A picnic has been planned at the Brownsville Pioneer Park, Brownsville, Oregon on Saturday, Oct 4. Ellis TYCER was born in Northumberland Co., VA in 1756. He enlisted into the Revolutionary War at Halifax Co., VA, serving under General Green. Following discharge from service, he lived in Halifax County, VA and Wilkes Co., NC. He arrived in Davidson Co., TN in 1792 and by 1803 settled in Dickson County, TN where he died in 1846. It is believed, but not documented, that his wife was Rachel STANSBURY. Nine or ten children were born to this union of which five have been positively identified. Prior to 1840 two of his sons, Lewis & Allan, left Dickson Co. TN for central Missouri (Carroll, Chariton and Putnam Counties). Lewis and his family (second wife Frances Jane SANDERS) emigrated to The Oregon Territory in 1853 (Linn, Josephine, and Crook Counties). Lewis was first married to Sarah Angelina WRIGHT who died about 1840. Alan, wife Pernina FREEMAN and their family remained in Missouri. The oldest daughter, Martha TYCER married John NESBITT. I am looking for info on Henry Wade Williams born in TN (possibly Wayne Co.) or Florence, Lauderdale Co., AL on February 22, 1855. Died August 29, 1940 in Little River Co., AR close to Ashdowne, AR. He married Caroline Lanier 1880 in Tickridge, AL. Where is Tickridge? She was wife #2 of 3 he had. She was born between 1854 and 1855 Lexington, Lauderdale Co., AL. Died in 1890 supposedly in Columbus, AR. I cannot find her burial place. Her parents were Robert Turner Lanier born June 25, 1816 in Giles Co., TN. Died July 25, 1892 in Lexington, AL. He married Miriam Belew August 7, 1849 in Lauderdale Co., AL. She was born February 4, 1829 in AL. Died December 21, 1905 in Lexington, Lauderdale Co., AL. Buried I think in the Barnett Cemetery. They had 11 children. I have more info on these if anyone is interested. Is there anyone researching these lines? I have Henry Wade Williams's parents being Nathaniel D. C. Williams born 1827 in AL and Mahulda Earnest born 1826 in AL. I am willing to share any info I have. (Martha) Jane Foley Cornelius, NC formerly of Colorado Springs, CO and DeQueen, AR
Russ, I looked at my GEDCOM, and my source information would lead me to believe that I got that information from either the GEDCOM given to me by Steph Turnbo or perhaps Peggy O'Neal Jones, but I suspect the former. She (Steph) has a website link from my turnbo website at http://turnbo.casey-genealogy.com if you want to perhaps contact her or look through her site. To be honest, I have found a lot of errors in material received from her (sorry Steph!) but she means well, and it is her husband's genealogical lines after all... If you DO have confirmation that her death was earlier, I'd like to change my database/GEDCOM, so please let me know. In other words, you're probably more apt to be right than me on this person! I'll list her death date as the one you have for now, and I appreciate your note. Hello, I am planning a research trip to Wayne County and other areas of TN later this summer, and would like to know what Libraries might have genealogy material on that area. Also, can you please tell me if there are any RV facilities near by? Will be traveling in a motorhome. Thank You, Dena Vancouver, WA
I am looking for a SAMUEL MARTIN, SR. and Jr. in Pickens County, SC. Samuel Martin, Sr. is found in the 1790, 1800, 1810. Samuel Martin, Jr. shows up in the 1810 census. In the 1820 census Samuel Martin, Jr. is gone but the Sr. is still there. I believe SAMUEL MARTIN, Jr. moved to Wayne Co., TN where he shows up in the 1820 census. The 1830 census shows an Elizabeth Martin, widowed. Donna

Bobbye, I have extensive files on the Turnbough/Turnbow/Turnbo clan of SC/TN/TX (etc.) and do not find a Clabe Turnbo. My most 'recent' Turnbow relative was Jane Turnbow b. 1815 in Wayne Co., TN., so someone born in 1896 would not be directly in my line, so I'd likely not have them in my files. Nonetheless I checked my "HUGE compiled file" from 2001 before I weeded out a bunch of names, and still no Clabe. You may want to look at my website for some other links for Turnbo info: http://turnbo.casey-genealogy.com Best of luck! dlc ADDENDUM: Someone wrote me to suggest that Clabe might be Claiborn(e) Turnbo. I DO have a couple of Turnbos with Claiborn as part of their name: William Claiborn Turnbo 1858-1936 m. Nancy Elizabeth Gibbs and Silas Claiborn Turnbo 1844-1925 m. Mary Matilda Holt No one with the last name of Bullion appears in my file. There was also a Claiborn Pigg who married a Turnbo, and HE died in Wayne Co., TN... Sorry I'm not of much help...
