A cousin asked me this question and I didn't know the answer. Hopefully someone out there does--- Ted, Do you know if the estate papers, the documents recorded by the executors or administrators of an estate, are extant for Washington Co., TN? Though most of these are merely records of who bought a cow or plow from an estate, some are golden. For example, sometimes a husband signed for monies inherited by his wife. They are particularly useful for those who died without a will. Disposition of these seems to vary widely. The original documents for Chester Co., SC are stored in boxes in the Courthouse basement-available to anyone, decaying and getting scattered. Some of those for Mecklenburg Co., NC have been microfilmed by the LDS and others are available from Raleigh. I see no LDS microfilms for those from Washington. Dee
