I didn't want to be involved but it's reached a point where I need to speak up. PLEASE leave the list the way it is now. There have been incredible problems on lists that have the automatic reply back to the whole list. Many new members do not realize the settings and everything from health to financial problems and even comments regarding other members become posted by mistake for ETERNITY. Even long time members, mistakenly post something that should not be. I have seen this happen on surname, county and region rootsweb lists. If the information is worthy of the whole list, all participants here are intelligent enough to do such. After all, aren't we all here to help and be helped?
