    3. Interesting. I am the one who made the original request and I, too, am a moderator for multiple discussion lists. And I belong to quite a few more (over 200). Even with that number, we have very little problem with them getting too personal. I find that most people are very respectful of "list rules" and we very rarely have to ask someone to take a topic off list. And since we ask politely, we never have a problem with feelings getting hurt. I guess I'm in the minority here, which is disappointing on a "research" list because I have a feeling that we're missing a lot of potentially good information that is exchanged "off list". Personally, I find it very easy to use my delete key for topics I'm not interested in, or setting my lists to digest mode when they get too active. I would much rather have to use my delete key liberally than miss out on key information that would help me break down one of my "brick walls". I would be grateful if someone could point me to a Washington County or East Tennessee genealogy list that has more active discussions. 3. Are there any Isenberg descendants on this list? I have an Isenberg site at MyFamily.com--free, private--and you would be welcome to join us there. Ruth Rogers

    3. Note: It is entirely up to the list Adminstrator as to how the reply default is set, however, setting it so that All messages are returned to the list makes it very difficult to make off-list personal replies because you have to either type or copy and paste the personal address in the new message. This entails going into the properties of the previous message and finding the personal address and copying it. Setting the default to return all messages to the list is in conflict with the way most users mail programs are designed to operate.. Not Good! G.
