    1. Allgood family
    2. I am new to the list and wanted to put my surname on the mailings so as to see if someone had any information regarding my family lines. John Algood/Allgood and his wife moved to Washington County some time after 1812, as he was found on the Sullivan County, TN tax list that year. He was found in the 1830 census with one male and one female (we believe it to possibly be his youngest daughter and her family, but nothing proof positive yet). In 1834 he is found in Breckinridge County, Kentucky. Would anyone have any access to records from 1812-1834 for Washington County regarding a John Algood/Allgood from Mecklenburg County, Virginia... his wife Jinsey Blake (we believe she died in the Washington County area).... or any of their children. Their children are Manley Allgood (bd. abt. 1800, possibly Virginia) who married Prissillia ?? (md. ??); Mary Jane "Jinsey" who married Michael Grindstaff (have information on this line), Elizabeth who married Curtis Childers (have information on this line); Lucinda "Lucy" who married Reuben Blake; John Jr. who married Nancy Elizabeth Powers. We know Mary Jane "Jinsey" married Michael Grindstaff in Carter Co. and remained there with him. Elizabeth married Curtis Childers possibly in Carter Co., and stayed there with him until her death (which is believed to be abt. 1858). Lucinda married Reuben Blake in Hawkins Co. and moved to Harrison Co., Indiana. Manley and Prissillia ?? married somewhere in Tennessee (due to two of the kids' listings of birthplace on the census'), and they were the first to have left Washington County and moved to Kentucky before the 1830 census. John Jr. married Nancy Elizabeth Powers in Kentucky. Any help on these lines would be greatly appreciated, as they are a 23+ year stumbling block. Thanking you in advance... 3. Dana, The only Algood/Allgood I see in the Washington County tax lists between 1778-1850 is in 1824. Manley ALLGOOD was listed in Kitsmiller's company.
