Jackie, I wish I could answer your question. For years I have been searching for the family of my Elizabeth J. Shanks, b. August 6, 1824. She married Jesse Davis, April 15, 1841. By 1841, the Davis family had been in the Baileyton area of Greene County for a couple of generations, and Jesse and Elizabeth remained in that area and raised their children there. He died around 1865. She died July 12, 1900 and is buried in Cross Anchor Cemetery near Baileyton. There are a lot of Shanks in Hawkins County, but I've never found any Elizabeth with an 1824 birth year. I wonder if she could be related to your group?
