I'm trying to trace my great-grandfather, Hiram Adkins, who was born abt. 1834 in TN. His mother was probably Catherine Adkins who was born in NC in 1813 and a father ? Adkins born in TN. I'm guessing they were in the Washington Co. area before Hiram moved to Alabama's Winston Co.(was on 1860 and 1870 census there) and Cullman Co. where he stayed. Catherine(widowed with some grown children turns up living next door to Hiram on the 1870 census.) Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
