Hi Geoff, In 1860 Robert is listed as age 10 living with the Walker family but in 1870 he is suppose to be living with a Josh Shields and his family and 1880 he is married and still living there in Washington county. I am not sure about the time between 1880 and 1890 but in 1900 he ends up in Texas. I have asked for a census lookup for 1850 in hopes that his family can be found there. I would like to see your ancestry there though. I think from the census records that they are more than likely all related in some way or at least the ones left in 1880. I did notice a Julia b. 1814 on the census and wondered if that might be an aunt? So anyway Robert having been born in 1850 or so wouldn't be listed. I just don't know where his parents are is all.
