Hi Elizabeth, I hope you don't mind, I'm responding to your request for FITZGERALD information to the list so any other interested researchers will also have access to the information. There are quite a few entries for Fitzgerald.... The main entry is a write-up on the Fitzgerald-Brown Family: "The Fitzgeralds in America are from Ireland, Tennessee, and Virginia. George Fitzgerald (born 1755) applied for a Revolutionary pension, 1819 and later received $8 a month. James, son of George purchased a farm in Washington county, Tennessee from Jonoathan Tipton, 1788. He was on the 1787 Tax List. He married c1810 in Virginia, Jane Robinson. They settled in Washington County, Tennessee, 1811. The were divorced 1854 (there were some children of this marriage names unknown.) James married secondly Susannah Milburn. They had a son Richard Fitzgerald. James married thirdly in 1858, Rhoda Ford. Richard received a pension 1893 for his services in the Civil War (SCA). Richard married Amanda chapman/Chatman. Ida _____ end (my) transcript______ The article doesn't end there, it does go on to name these children's children and give some ancestry information on the BROWN family. Most of the subsequent FITZGERALD entries are for people born in the 1900's. Let me know if this is the information you seek, I'll transcribe the rest for you (two more pages of names-dates). Other pre-1900 FITZGERALD information: "On August 23, 1784, a meeting was held at the courthouse in Jonesborough...... (snipped ) .... "On motion of Mr. Cocke, whether for or against forming ourselves into a separate and distinct state, independent of the State of North Craolina, at this time, it was carried in the affirmative. "On motion of Mr. Kennedy, the yeas and nays were taken on the above question. Yeas - Mr. Tirril, Samms, North, Taylor, Anderson, Houston, Cox, Joseph Wilson, Trimble, Reese, John Anderson, Manifee, Christian, Carnes, A. Taylor, Fitzgerald, Cavit, Looney ......" (A Fitzgerald apparently voted for the creation of the "The State of Franklin" Search th web for historical information, you can find a lot of background on the subject) "The State Historical Marker on State Route 36 tells of the founding of the Boones Creek Church of Christ in 1825. For 162 years this church has been a vital part of the community......... <cut> The following surnames are among those found on the church rolls from 1834 to 1860: ........ FITZGERALD ......." "Hales Chapel Christian Church began as the result of a revival held in 1886 at Leab's Store, located near Buffalo Ridge. .... Names of early members included: Bacon, Barry, .....FITZGERALD......" There are quite a few references to FITZGERALD in the Index, but they are just single name entries in other people's biographical information. If you'll give me specific names you are researching I'll check to see if those persons are listed. Unfortunately I don't have the Cemetery book you referred to, but I know there are people on the list who do, perhaps if you'll post your request to the list, a Genealogy Angel might look it up for you. :-) -Bev
