Elaine is trying to find information and pictures of the schools in Washington County built under the Federal Emergency Administration of Public Works, Franklin D. Roosevelt, President of the United States, Harold L Ickes, Administration of Public Works, 1939. This information with the name of the school appears on a 1 x 2 ft. marker attached to the building at eye-level by the front door. Buildings that she has identified thus far: Oak Springs (Harmony Community), Bowmantown, Telford, Conklin, McKinley (Midway), Asbury, Jonesborough (on Boone St.), Austin Springs. Also, she is interested in any schools in the county that no longer exists. Elaine would appreciate any information that you can share with her.
