Family History Days on the courthouse lawn in Wise, VA on Friday and Saturday - May 19 and 20. Festivities start at 9:00 a.m. on both days. Historians and genealogists will be on hand to help you with your family history, offer advice on your research, help you locate cemeteries, whatever help you need. Tents will be on site with experts on the families of Baker, Bolling, Mullins, Short, Sturgill, Flanary, Kilgore, Stallard...just to name a few. The Circuit Court Clerk's Office will be open both days to allow you to conduct genealogical research. Members of the society as well as employees of the Clerk's Office will be available to assist you. Members of the Wise County Historical Society, Big Sandy Valley Historical Society, Historical Society of the Pound, Russell County Historical Society, Scott County Historical Society, Lee County Historical Society, Letcher County, Kentucky Historical Society will be present.
