Vicky, This may refer to the Church of the Brethren--they have also been known as Dunkards, Dunkers and Tunkers. There are several different Brethren groups, but the Church of the Brethren established the first church in TN in Washington Co, probably in 1800. It was in the Knob Creek community. In 1830 a congregation was established in Limestone. About 1902 a church was built near Boones Creek. Much later there was a Johnson City church and one called Liberty, which recently split from the COB and became independent (?). These are some places to try.
