Sarah, also called Dolly, was the dau. of Gov. John Sevier and his first wife Sarah Hawkins. Sarah Hawkins Sevier was born in Rockingham Co., VA, in 1770 and she and her husband were married very young at about age 16. They had 10 children, as I understand, although none of the children are named in the Zella Armstrong books which are a collection of submissions and not of actual records. The BROWNs and SEVIERs are fairly well known families with many descendants. Both families are connected to my BAYLESS ancestors but they are not my direct ancestors. There is a lot about the SEVIERs in the series "Notable Southern Families" by Zella Armstrong. This entire series is also available on the Family Tree maker CD #191: Southern Genealogies #1 1600s-1800s which I own. There are also some BROWN and SEVIER histories in the Washington Co. history by WAGS, 1988. I also have a copy of this. Others know more about these families than I do as I have not researched them in any depth. If you do not get more info, I will gladly see what more I might be able to find in my books for East TN. I have no source info for Union Co. Barbara Ribling [email protected] http://www.geocities.com/Heartland/Ranch/5456/ >My ancestor Elizabeth Brown b about 1800 was married in Union Co IL in >1818.
