I believe that Sarah Margaret PETERS was his first wife. She reportedly died in Washington Co., TN, in 1870. Bayless, 1844-1879 Vol.1: Oak Hill R.R. Bayless, 1843-1917, C.S.A. Adalaide Bayless, 1853-1938 (probably the last wife of R.R., Julia Adaline Guinn) John H. Bayless, 1870-1917 Beulah, wife of John H., 1870-1914 Edwin R. Bayless, Sr., 1872-1944 Georgia C. Bayless, 1878-1964 Edwin R. Bayless, Jr., 1905-1965 L.S. Bayless, 1847-1916 S.J. Bayless, 1844-1906 Mary I. Bayless, 1858-1930 All of these were apparently buried in the same plot near each other. There are many BAYLESS families buried in Washington Co. cemeteries. I do not own the cemetery books and so do not have the indexes or complete listings. One of my cousins copied many pages for me which include many BAYLESS graves. I did not find Sarah Margaret. She may be buried with the PETERS family at Cherokee Baptist or in another Washington Co. cemetery. I do not know exactly when she died. I have the following information from Harry Nelms: 1343.
