Bev: I was thrilled with the FITZGERALD information even though it is a collateral line.I believe that George and my direct line are brothers but lack proof at this time. I am searching for WILLIAM, JOHN or ISHAM FITZGERALD in Washington County in that same time frame ( late 1700's--early 1800's ). All sources catagorize the Fitzgeralds as Irish and yet I wonder why, if they were directly from Ireland , the men were given English names.
