Hi Sherry, That is my Peter Miller & Jacob Miller also, and I am definitely interested in sharing information. I collected information on the conflicting stories back in January. I'll go back through it, but my time will be limited for the next few weeks until the semester is over in mid-May. One of the conflicts is that one group considers Elizabeth Boon (Bohun) to be a cousin of the famous Daniel Boone and another group disputes that. Another thing that I find particularly puzzling is that one of the Peter Millers with son Jacob was Church of the Brethren--one of the founding members, as a matter of fact--but the Jacob who married Elizabeth Range apparently was not (according to some sources). Jacob and Elizabeth had a daughter Eliza and a daughter Elizabeth, both of whom married Bowmans, and the two Bowmans were Church of the Brethren (Dunkards, Dunkers, Tunkers). I am descended from Eliza Miller who married John Bowman, and their daughter Elizabeth married Jacob Wine, a Church of the Brethren minister. Since the Brethren tended to marry within the church at that time, I would have expected Eliza Miller to be Church of the Brethren. Of course it could be that the source that says the Jacob who married Elizabeth Range was not Brethren could have been wrong, but Jacob Miller's will directs that he be buried at a non-Brethren church in Greene County (I'll have to look up the name.) Do you also have that Jacob Miller married Hannah Broyles after Elizabeth died and then cut her out of his will? I would love to figure this out--it's one of those loose ends that drives me crazy. The problem is that I live in NY and get to TN once or twice a year. As soon as I get a chance, I'll summarize the different versions that I have and post them to the list.
