Message text written by INTERNET:[email protected] >I am seaching for wills for settlements, etc. for the period of 1806 - 1817 for a Simpson. My g-g-g grandfather Henry Simpson was left an orphan in 1817 at age 11 in Greene Co., Tn, but from his activities in later life, he may have had connections with Washington Co., TN Simpsons. Would you please check for anything that might fit with this possiblility? I am wondering if Henry's father died and his mother moved to Greene Co., TN after her husband's death and maybe remarried. I found a connection with Ellis King, who owned the land Henry sold in 1831 as far back as 1805 and 1810. Thank you for any help you can find. Barbara< Barbara: The only Simpson Will I find is for James, but it is in 1855, too late for you. I looked for Ellis King, but did not find him. Did your Henry Simpson marry Anna Carter 24 Aug 1827? Bondsmen were John Harmon, Jr. and William Jones. Greene Co., TN Marriages 1783-1868 Ellis King married Elizabeth Carter on 23 January 1797. Maybe that is your connection. Witnesses apparently were William and Moses Millsaps.
