Have you gone and checked with the funeral home that handled the funeral? My great grandmother was no where to be found, but I knew she lived and died in Warren Co. High's Funeral Home had a listing of the funeral and which cemetery she was buried in. There was never a headstone put on the grave because the family couldn't afford it. This funeral home did have a location of where she and her two sons were buried (none had headstones). I did find that the funeral home wouldn't do a search for you. You either have to go yourself or send someone else to look it up in their records. Another note I was looking for my great grandmother using her full name (first, middle and married name). It turned out that when we found her it was listed under the name of Nannie and then her married name. I'm not sure, but Nannie sounds more like Granny or Grandma instead of a proper name. I'm in the same boat as you guys with my great grandfather, other side of the family. I know where his family is buried in Warren Co, but can't find him anywhere. No record of his death and no place of burial. The same funeral home should have handled his funeral, but no luck finding him. When he died he and his wife did own a farm, land Willed to him by his father. It is possible that he was buried there and since it was sold later, the gravesite could be lost forever.
