    2. The Monroe Davis that you have the census records for is not the Monroe Davis that married Rebecca Hillis. John C. Davis married Mary Lou Youngblood, and their son Monroe was actually James Monroe Davis who married Bettie Elizabeth Prater. James Monroe and Bettie Elizabeth are my husband's 2nd great-grandparents.
