Mary's maiden name was Cantrell, I believe, making them cousins or some other relation. I think her parents were Benjamin Cantrell and Charity Legat (daughter of John Legate). I have seen references to a Green Cantrell being the child of Isaac Cantrell and Mary Linder - making Green Mary's uncle, but that is not substantiated, and he could be a Green named after an earlier generation. They had a child, Peter Horrey Cantrell, who lists them as parents when his wife (Elizabeth Purser) applied for pension from the Civil War. He is my direct relation.
