I am seeking information on the parents of Harbred H. Towles born TN Nov 14, 1842, unknown county. I found him on the 1850 census in Humpherys Co TN living with J. T. Waggoner and wife Letitia. I show 3 other Towles/Tolls children living in the county 1850 with other families ( Folks, Lucas, and Jackson). I suspect they were adopted after a death of parents but have no proof. I went over the Humpheries county court minutes prior to 1850 and find no guardianship info on them in that county. Since the main county for the presence of Towles in TN is Warren Co, I have decided to continue my search here. I suspect a Waggoner and Massey connection and perhaps a Russell connection for various reasons. (2nd son is named Harbred Massey Towles and we found in Humpheries Co a Harbred H. Massey.) Harbred H. was living in 1860 in Ripley Co MO with a Russell family. Does anyone on this list even suspect a connection to him? Slim chance but you dont know until you ask.
