He married Nancy Potts, daughter of Nathan Potts. They lived in Warren County, Tennessee, until they moved to Caldwell County, MO, around 1840. According to DNA results, William is related to Rev Tidence Lane and Major Samuel Lane. At this point it is unknown as to how they connect. Any information would be appreciated. Hey gang, Just a short reminder to the vets and newbies at this site of my free research for the asking here at Andersonville. Of the 41000 Union soldiers on record from all states, 1618 are from Tennessee. Please email me directly at Frye@pstel.net with request so we dont tie up the county site. Does anyone out there research the Bowlin/Boland/Bolin family of Warren Co? In particular, I have searched for the parents of Solomon W. Bolin/Bowlin who married Sarah Walker, prob dau of James H. She resided with a Nunley family prior to marriage, due to a bad relationship with step-mother. We believe Solomon to be a relative of Temperance, but no proof. Solomon died at Post Hosp #11 Nashville during the CW of smallpox. Gravesite unknown. In the pension applications, Woodlee's, Nunley's, Walkers all testified they lived near Sol all his life, as well as Sarah. Temperance is the only Bolin in the area of all these witnesses. Sarah and Solomon had 2 children prior to his CW service: Mary Elizabeth & Levi H. Any info appreciated. Might anyone have a copy of the original 1812 Warren Co. Tax List for Civil District 9 under Samuel Colville? In the Combs-Coombs transcription I find no mention of a William Gordon, but on the Absolom Brown webpage http://www.absolombrown.com/ with various Warren Co records, I did find a William Gordon listed right below my ancestor Robert Gordon. Interestingly, I found Robert listed twice on the Absolom Brown transcription. I would just like to confirm that there was a William Gordon found on the 1812 Tax List. Bob: Our answers are crossing in the mail. I will await your next response about Alexander Walker's will. No, I don't have a copy of his will. Carol
Carol Are you aware of a will for Alexander Walker that probated 10 may 1858 in DaKalb County? Bob From: Carol114jim@aol.com My brick wall is with Alexander Walker, born Nov. 26, 1775 in NC or SC. He died on July 31, 1855 in Dekalb County, TN. He had several children. I come from his son William. There were two older daughters named Mahalia & Nancy. Alexander's son William married Teletha Martin & they lived in Dekalb & Warren counties, TN. Their son Alexander L. Walker was my grt. grandfather. That whole line stayed in TN until my dad moved to IL. I don't know anything about Nancy except that I do believe she married an Allen who I think were neighbors of this Walker family. If you take a look at the Walker DNA project, you will see many Walkers but our group is No. 7. I had my uncle submit his dna for our line. What information do you have to share?
