    1. [TNWARREN] Isaac Barnes - son of Charles Barnes (b. 1 Apr 1809) and Susannah Smith
    2. Wanda VanderVeen
    3. HiAll, In digging around this evening (no pun intended) I found an Isaac Barnes buried in the Barnes Cemetery at Irving College. He was listed as a member of the 2nd D Co 35th Tenn Infantry. In my files I have an Isaac Barnes who is the son of Charles Barnes (b. 1 Apr 1809) and Susannah Smith. This Charles sister was the brother of my GG Grandmother, Mary (Polly) Barnes m. Samuel Worthington. I understand that Charles and Mary's father William was killed in a powder mill explosion at Irving College in 1819 and it really does seem like too much of a coincidence. By chance, can someone tell me if these are the same person? Wanda (Worthington) VanderVeen

    1. [TNWARREN] GRISHAM/GRISSOM
    2. Has anyone researching their Grisham/Grissom line in Warren connected with the Grisham's/Grissom's in Sumner County, TN or Todd County, KY or Johnson County, IL. Common given names in my line are William, Thomas, Samuel, John, Benjamin, Sarah, Catherine, George and James. These seem to be consistent in every generation going back atleast to the 1700's. Looking to connect and fill in some holes. Thanks for your time. Jenny at [email protected]

    1. [TNWARREN] Randolph
    2. Jan Patton
    3. One of my ancestors, Samuel Randolph enlisted in the NC 45th Infantry. He served with three other Randolphs: Shadrach, John, and J. Were they related in any way? Samuel was the son of John W. and Mary Ann Randolph who were both b. in NC ca. 1801-02, maybe Yancey Co. and I believe married there. They later lived in Warren and Wilson Cos., Tn. In 1846 they migrated to Pope Co., Il. Their son, Samuel went back to NC to serve the CSA in the 45th. Does anyone have any info on any of these people? Jan

    1. [TNWARREN] Moon family
    2. Vivian Pappas
    3. My g. grandfather, Alexander Samuel Moon b. 1814 in TN. I have been told in Cannon Co. I know there was no Cannon Co. until 1836, but I have noticed several Moons in Warren County around that time. Am trying to establish parents of Alexander Samuel Moon, I know Britton Moon had a son Alexander born a little after that time but some of the other Moons had sons born about the same time but the sons were not named, just numbered. If anyone has any knowledge of these early to mid 1800's Moons from Middle Tennessee I would like to exchange information. Thanks in advance Vivian Pappas _________________________________________________________________ Join the world’s largest e-mail service with MSN Hotmail. http://www.hotmail.com

    2. I just wanted to thank all the folks that have helped with my CUNNINGHAM research. Just a few short days ago I only had the names of my great-grandfather and his wife. Now....I have the name of my great X 4 and bunches of his descendents! WOW! That's what it's all about. All of us helping each other. Darn, but I'm proud of ya'll! Also wanted to mention how pleased I was to find so much Native American information on the Warren site. THAT is most unusual. Hopefully more TN counties will follow suit. THANKS FOLKS!! Jenny

    1. [TNWARREN] Andersonville Civil War POW site
    2. frye
    3. I would like to welcome those of you new to this site and tell you there are some really great folks who are willing to help just for the asking. I, myself do Volunteer research at Andersonville Civil War Prison in Andersonville Georgia. There are Any research I do is absolutely at NO cost and I am willing to do what I can. There are 1200 prisoners on record from the state of Tennessee and almost 800 who died here, I thought I would send my offer. As Tennessee was one of the states that was torn apart and was truley brother against brother,,I feel the need to say I am not in anyway trying to focus on the horrors of Andersonville compared to any POW camp in the north ..( i.e.Elmira ) or any others and do not wish to stir up arguments on this site. My focus is dedicated to ALL of those held prisoner during this war , on both sides. I just happen to be near Andersonville so this is where I do my work. Here are my sources of research. There are 2 online databases to do lookups.....One by name...one by Company and Regiment. I also have a copy of the Dorence Atwater Death list which has the names and grave numbers of 12960 graves with only 460 marked as " UNKNOWN " This along with a CD I have which contains 34,000 names of the 45,000 who were imprisoned there which helps me find prisoner records because of misspellings of the names or alternate names. I visit the prison site every couple of weeks and have access to the onsite databases as well as the physical files. I would like to let you know of another service I offer which is to take photos of graves for a small fee. Please do not consider this spam as my research offer is FREE for the asking and will be posted on this county site only once. If there is anything I can do in helping your research at Andersonville, please just ask. 2. Jan Patton
    3. Does anyone have any info on a John William Randolph who m. Mary Ann Reavis/Reaves/Revis/Reeves. Supposedly their marriage was in Maury Co. 8 Mar 1818. But I understand that Maury was not a county until later. They left Tn. and moved to Pope Co. in southern Il. in the mid 1840's. I feel certain that they must have had brothers or sisters who stayed in Tn. I've been told that one of John's sisters or brothers married an Easterly. Also there may be a Millard marriage. Any help appreciated. I'm at my wit's end trying to f nd the parents or sibs of these two. Help!!! Jan

    1. [TNWARREN] Cemetery at Earlyville Church of Christ?
    2. Hello to the list, Forgive me if I have asked this question.....my mind is like a sieve and I often forget and repeat myself. Does anyone know if there is a cemetery at the Earleyville Church of Christ or any burials in that area from ca. 1900? If there, were they recorded in anyway? I have needed to give them a call for sometime about this, but thought I would try the list to see if anyone has knowledge of this area. Thanks to all. Sincerely, Chris Cash
