I guess it's not uncommon .People moved around more than I thought.I guess with 200 years gone by it doesn't really matter. Thank you for your replies. Sue

Surnames: RICHARDSON/TURNER/JENNINGS/WOODSIDE Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/QeB.2ACE/106 Message Board Post: My gr grandfather was Landon Britt RICHARDSON. He is mentioned in Hale's History as one of the "big" men of the county. He was born 1831 TN, married Martha TURNER 1858 DeKalb Co. Is in the 1850 DeKalb co Census in the household of Elizabeth WOODSIDE. I believe this may be his mother. Also listed in the household is a Montelius RICHARDSON, also mentioned in Hales' history. Landon was in Smith 8th Cav CSA, captured and held in Union prison camp at Camp Morton IN. I don't know what happened to Martha, but in Dec 1865 he married Nancy Frances JENNINGS in Wilson co TN. Any information or lead as to Landon's parents would be greatly appreciated. I welcome any suggestions. I have very good reason to believe he was somehow related to Thomas Henry Woodford RICHARDSON born 1821 died abt 1904 DeKalb Co and was married to a WALKER, buried in WALKER Cemetery in DeKalb co. Thanks. Ellen Bob
My ancestors are from Warren,Dekalb,Smith and surrounding counties. My maiden name is Nixon I married a Winnett and in my research I have come across a couple of Nixons in the early 1800's who were married to Winnetts. They were reletives , but I think this is strange or odd.I hope the connection is far enough in the past that it doesn't matter now.I guess what I am saying is what goes around comes around again in some way. Has anyone else had anything like this in your research? Sue

Hello List, I am looking for the parents of three people. Two of them share the same parent, the other one I don't know about. Martha and Savage Richardson (siblings) and Levi Richardson. Is there anyone that could possibly help me? Christy
I have some BROWN's in my notes, although they are not listed in Mt. Zion Cemetery in Warren Co., I still thought I would send them to you in case you need them. I know by tracing my family that they moved around to Warren, White, Putnam, and many of the counties in that area. In many cases they were buried away from their home town to a family graveyard in a near by county. The following Brown's are buried in White Co., TN. I hope this helps! What a beautiful poem. I share your feelings, though not born here. Many, many ancestors born here, so I feel my roots. Am glad to be here now. I love it too. Thank you.

I must say to Fred, Patty and Brenda that you have done a wonderful job on this survey site. Even though I didn't see any of my ancestors, I really enjoyed it. Keep up the great work!! Greetings, Some of you have already seen this Warren page, however, I have added a color image of good old Warren County red earth. The colors have not been enhanced. http://www.californios.us/warren/redbanks/ This URL will still be good for a few more days until the USGenNet server is back online. Then the Warren site will be back on tngenweb.org Fred Smoot

Greetings all, Here is a project of mine that finally made it online. It is the abstracts the first 1,808 surveys recorded in the Second District, 1807-1809. http://www.californios.us/warren/2sd/ While these surveys cover a very large area of Middle Tennessee, only the southwest part of Warren County is covered. The counties are mentioned in the surveys: Bedford, Franklin, Hickman, Lincoln, Maury, Rutherford, Warren, White, and Williamson. Actually, none of the surveys were in White County, but the later forming Coffee County and the eastern part of Giles County are covered by the Second District. Fred Smoot

Is there a new Tennessee State Library or is it still in the same building with the Tennessee State Archives? Ruby in Oregon
You will really enjoy the Tennessee State Library and Archives. I also really got a lot of good information from the Library in McMinnville. I also went to the Court house in McMinnville and found a few wills. I just never have time to do all I want. I had my Whitlock family at Daylight and my Ray family at Belk. In early years Belk was in Warren County but it is now in DeKalb County. Ruby

While you are at the State Library, you can eat lunch at the Satsuma Tea Room. Its unfortunate that you won't be there during "Fresh Grape Pie" season. (Its to die for) When you leave the library, walk up to the main street, turn right go to the stop light where the Days Inn is, take a left and walk down approximately 2 blocks. The Satsuma is on your right. Its a very old fashioned, plain place where you can eat lunch quickly. Susan
