Linda: I was born in Campaign on March 7, 1923. As far back as I can remember it was a campground but I can not recall it being a church sponsored supported camp. My father and his brother owned some lots nearby that was sold by the McGibbony Brothers who lived close to Campaign. I believe that their father wasa Methodist minister. It could be possibly that the campground was owned at one time by this family. If I can be of further service, please feel free to ask. Everett

I was wondering if you knew any history of Camp Overton. This is the Church of God of Tn campground. I know it was a campground before it was purchased by them. I am 55 and that is where I went to camp as a teenager. It is still a beautiful place today. I still go to the Church of God in Hermitage Tn. Do you know any history of Camp Overton before of after purchase. Just wondering, it would be nice to put into the records of the camp for future generations. Thanks a lot. Looking for info on these families: 1850 census Warren Co, TN Scott ROBERTS age 42 and family page 63B He had a son listed there as Jackson ROBERTS. Jackson is found on the 1880 census in Van Buren, TN with his family. Any one know these people? Casey
Silas Alexander married Sophia Spangler in Warren Co on December 17, 1838. I believe Sophia is the daughter of George Spangler. In Warren County, Tennessee Plat Book Vol. 3 by Nona Williams, I have found a survey done on "August 2, 1838 for John Morgan 25 acres by entry dated 14 January 1836 No. 4118 on the waters of the Barren Fork of Collins River, Silas ALEXANDER's line, Campbell's line, Wm. Traver's line. Sam'l Lesley and Alex'r Wimberly, CC. The above entry called for 100 acres. A. Higginbotham, PS August 4, 1838. Sent on 27 November 1828 by Geo. SPANGLER." Where might I be able to get a copy of this survey? Also, Samuel Alexander had 50 acres on the waters of the Barren Fork of Collins River and Houston Alexander and Silas Alexander were chain carriers. Is anyone else researching these Alexanders who could tell me their relationship? Anyone researching Spangler? Thank you for any leads. Linda King Oregon

Hello Mr. Brock Yes ... Priscilla Morgan [my 2nd cousin]. I didn't know she was injured too ... I was told by another cousin, Clifford Hodges, that Priscilla's Mother, Allie (Williams) Morgan died either from injuries or an illness sometime soon after a tornado struck Campaign. Trying to pinpoint what year that may have been. Were you a friend or relation to Priscilla Morgan? Her Mother & two brothers are suppose to be buried @ the Friendship Baptist Church in Campaign. [must be unmarked graves] no luck finding their dates in the cemetery books of Warren County. Anxious to hear from you! Lisa Williams Texas
