COFFEY, SHIRLEY ACUFF MCGINNIS - age 70, passed away April 26, 2009 at U. T. Medical Center in Knoxville . She was a resident of Hillcrest Nursing Home North since 1993, and had been in several different nursing homes in the areas since 1982. She was a member of Locust Grove Baptist church for 60 years, and was preceded in death by son, William C. McGinnis; and parents Alden and Hettie Petre Acuff. Survivors include daughter and son-in-law, Toman and Lynn Smith; sisters, Evelyn Acuff, Jo and husband Tom Whitt, all of Washburn; grandchildren, Dedra (Richard) Nicley of Washburn, Misti (Derek) Bailey of Rutledge,, Ashley (Robbie) Edgerton of Knoxville, Derek McGinnis of Sneedville, Nick (Brandi) Smith of Kokomo, IN; great grandchildren, Allison and Megan Nicley of Washburn, Hayden, Haley, and Carter Edgerton of Knoxville; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 28, 2009, 8:00 P.M. in the chapel of Smith-Reagan Funeral Home in Rutledge, with Rev. Richard Nicley officiating. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening 6:00 P.M. till 8:00 P.M. prior to services at the funeral home. Friends and family will gather Wednesday at 10:45 A.M. at Kitts Cemetery in Washburn for an 11:00 A.M. graveside service.
