THOMPSON, JULIUS TATE (TOMMY) - age 82 of Knoxville passed away Friday, April 10, 2009 at NHC St. Mary's after a long illness. He was of the Baptist faith and a U.S. Navy Veteran of WW II. He was preceded in death by wife, Betsy Monroe Thompson; son, Raymond B. Beeler; parents, A.M. and Mary Thompson and brother, Raymond Thompson. Survivors: daughter, Faye Foxwell and husband Frank of Knoxville; daughter-in-law, Helen Beeler of Maynardville; grandchildren: Deborah May, Linda Hunley, Neil Foxwell, Missy Truan, and Susan Smith; 15 great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; brother, Abe Thompson; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services 7:30 p.m. Rose Mortuary Broadway Chapel with Dr. G. Mike Weesner officiating. Family and friends will meet at Pleasant Grove Cemetery in New Market Tuesday at 11:45 a.m. for graveside services at 12:00 noon with full military honors conducted by Volunteer State Veterans Honor Guard.
