Randy, I am descended from James Welch through his son Willis Greene Welch. I'm amazed that you aren't finding anything, since the Internet has helped me find so much info on the descendants of Tandy and Polly. Two great places to start are Junior Welch's site on Family Tree Maker (http://familytreemaker.genealogy.com/users/w/e/l/Junior-R-Welch/GENE4-0001.html) and Brenda Nichols' "My Clinch Mountain Home." (http://brendanichols.tripod.com/welch.html). Neither site is currently being updated; Junior has passed away and I'm not sure about Brenda. But you'll find quite a bit there. Ancestry.com also has more information than just the censuses.
