Have you tried find a grave? Also there is some info on The Big Barren Church. My Pittman's and Hurst family are also buried there. ----- Original Message ----- From: tnunion-request@rootsweb.com To: tnunion@rootsweb.com Sent: Friday, March 23, 2012 12:01:07 AM Subject: TNUNION Digest, Vol 7, Issue 14 Today's Topics: 1. I am particularly interested in a grave for Anna McBee. According to the TVA removal list, it shoud be grave SH-20. Don't know how accurate the list is though. I'm hoping to maybe find out if this is Anna Hamilton McBee, wife of Samuel. She died in January of 1845. Pretty sure she was living in the area at that time. Would love to have a photo of the gravestone. Have been trying to locate Samuel's grave also. He died in 1858. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. According to TVA records, an unidentified Woods is buried in the same grave, also no stone, if that gives you any sort of clue. The last time I was at Big Barren Cemetery, it was well-maintained, but some of the stones are very old and hard to read. You can order the original record from TVA, and you'll find out at least who the closest relative was who authorized the move. That, too, may give you a clue. The cemetery listing is pretty well updated with many of the TVA removals in 1935. I have been to the cemetery many times and have never found a marker for Anne Hamilton McBee. If she is there it would be most likely in an unmarked grave. Samuel was my 4th great granduncle. I have never found his burial location but show he and Annie died in Lone Mtn., Claiborne County Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
