    3. IRICK, ALICE B. - age 85 of Halls, passed away Sunday, May 17, 2009. Alice was of the Lutheran faith and a member of her childhood church in Iowa. Preceded in death by her husband, Glen "Buck" Irick; parents, sister, brother and great grandson, Chance Irick Cooke. She leaves behind her daughter and son-in-law, Carol and K.D. Cooke; son and daughter-in-law, Ray and Angie Irick; grandchildren, Sandy Cooke, Scott Cooke, Crista Cooke and Justin Irick; three great grandchildren, Wyatt, Macy, and Alex Cooke; one sister, two brothers, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Alice resided in Elmcroft of Halls Assisted Living. The family wishes to thank the wonderful and caring caregivers, nurses, and staff. Alice lived in Iowa her first 18 years. She moved to California in 1941, where she met her husband, Glen, "Buck". They traveled wherever the Navy sent them for the next 20 years. The family moved to Maynardville, TN when Glen and Alice retired in 1959. They lived there and Halls the remaining years of their lives. The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. - 7 p.m. with funeral services to follow at 7 p.m. at Ailor Chapel with Reverend Phil Young of Salem Baptist Church officiating. Family and friends will meet at 9:45 a.m. Tuesday at Pleasant View Cemetery for a 10 a.m. graveside service. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Elmcroft of Halls Assisted Living Activities Department, 7521 Andersonville Pike, Knoxville, TN 37938 to the attention of Fay Clever.
