If Archibald Mullens was born in 1804, and if John Mullens and Elizabeth Stanley were married in 1809, do you have any supporting information to help explain whether or not John and Elizabeth are really Archibald's parents, even though there's a time gap? Thanks, DENNY. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. 3. There's a probably sister for Archibald: Elizabeth "Betsy" Mullens who married Elige Atkins abt 1835 in Knox county. She was born in 1813, not totally impossible for a family of several children. I have not seen any solid proof that they are siblings, but this is what I was told by a couple of different genealogists back in the 60s when I got started on the family. 2 different people from Knox & Union counties told me this, and while I haven't found anything to prove it, I haven't found anything to disprove it either yet. Another family rumor that I've been looking at is the possibility that the Mullens family were Melungeons.
