They had hoped we could get 5 million names indexed in 24 hours, but we are far surpassing this. Now they're wondering if we can hit 10 million names. We have about an hour and 20 minutes. That's time to index a page or two or three (depending on the hand writing and typing speed. Accuracy does count. If you can spare an hour, come help: you can sign on at Familysearchindexing.org. If you've indexed some, come give another hour. You probably have until 8 if you're in TN. I've got til 7. So I'm going to run now and see if I can get another couple pages done before the deadline. This is incredible--and their images are free. (The original microfilming was crappy, the feds did not do a good job of preserving our records. Images are free on www.familysearch.org--even unindexed 1940, and they'll be free when indexed, but them put them up 1 state at a time.
